Calendar Girls the Play - Spring 2026

Based on a true story, Calendar Girls follows members of a Yorkshire Women’s Institute who decide to produce a nude calendar to raise money for leukemia research after one of their husbands passes away. Initially met with scepticism and embarrassment, the women’s bold idea quickly captures public attention, turning them into unlikely celebrities. The play explores how ordinary women, through humour and bravery, challenge stereotypes about age and body image while discovering new strength in themselves and each other

At its core, the play is about resilience and community spirit. As the women navigate the pressures of sudden fame, they also confront personal insecurities, strained relationships, and the balance between private lives and public causes. With warmth and wit, Calendar Girls celebrates the power of friendship and the extraordinary things that can happen when ordinary people dare to do something unconventional.
